Hand Sawing
The Hand Saw which is commonly referred to as a “Demo Saw” is the most used saw in our fleet. This saw has the capacity to cut 150mm deep and can be used to cut through horizontal concrete or asphalt, as well as vertical concrete or brickwork.
Hand Saws are mainly used to create door openings, and penetrations in vertical walls, as well as small penetration in slabs and tight access areas.
The Hand Saw is ideal for all penetrations down to 400mmX400mm in 150mm thick
surfaces. Any penetrations less than 400mm wide will require stitch coring. – See Core Drilling or Stitch Coring for small penetrations.
The biggest disadvantage of the Hand Saw is the 2stroke fumes they create, so should not be used in poorly ventilated areas – See High-Frequency Sawing for poorly ventilated areas.
High Frequency Hand Sawing and Ring Sawing
High-Frequency Hand Saws and Ring Saws can complete the same works as the Hand Saw and Ring saw, but without the harmful fumes.
The saws have the ability to run off 15amp and 20amp power, with 20amp power being preferred as the saws run at a slower speed on 15amp power.

Cut and Removal works
Accelerated Concrete Sawing offers a cut and removal service for:
Suspended slab penetrations
Lift core extension
Door openings in tilt panels
Large commercial driveway removal
We can provide excavators, skid steers, crainange, back propping, and removal and disposal of concrete as required.
All works are accompanied by SWMS and demolition methodologies signed off with our Unlimited Demolition License.
Soft Cut / Early Entry Sawing / Expansion Joint Cutting
Accelerated has a number of early entry saws for expansion joint cutting. These saws provide a 4mm wide 30mm deep cut and can be used to cut expansion joints in slabs as soon as you are able to walk on the slab.
Getting on the slab early reduces the chance of cracks forming prior to expansion joints being cut in.
Soft Cut sawing is completed dry which means no slurry to be cleaned which can potentially stain the finished surface. We also can provide vacuums to extract dust as required.
Core Drilling – 16mm to 1000mm+ Core holes
Our Core Drills can be completed to achieve round holes from 16mm all the way up to 1m+ in diameter through depths of materials up and beyond 2m.
Generally, 18-40mm core drilling is completed for starter bars, dowel bars and chemical anchors when hammer drilling has failed due to the presence of steel. They are also completed when holes for studs have to be in exact locations for a pre-fabricated hold down plates, this is due to core drilling being very accurate.
40mm core holes and above are often used for services penetrations through a variety of materials, however there are endless reasons as to why core holes need to be completed.
Our operators have the ability to complete core holes on flat surfaces, walls, and inverted into the soffit of concrete slabs. We can do them on virtually any angle to any depth depending on the diameter of the core hole.
All our operators carry 2 core drills, a small drill for 16mm-125mm core holes, and a larger drill for 125-250mm core holes. We also carry a range of bits from 18mm to 250mm
diameter cores, anything larger or small needs to be requested prior to our arrival on site.
Road Sawing
The road saw or floor saw as they are commonly known is the most efficient way of cutting large amounts of horizontal concrete slabs, asphalt, and curb and channels.
Our road saws have the ability to cut to depths of 650mm, depending on the depth the capacity to 500 lineal meters in an eight-hour day. Road saws are ideal for the cutting and removal of concrete drive ways, ground slabs and suspended slabs, however they require adequate space for operation.
Ring Sawing
The Ring Saw is the deepest cutting hand-held unit available in the current market.
This saw uses a series of rollers to spin a ring around a stationary blade, this allows the blade of the saw to not have a center point and allows it to achieve a cut depth of 275mm.
These saws cut the same surfaces as the Hand Saw and are put to use when horizontal slabs or vertical walls are too thick for the Hand Saw.
The draw back of the ring saw is the running cost, prior to using the saw, surfaces are required to be cut with the hand saw to its full depth, then that cut is to be widened with a “Pre-cut blade” used on the Hand saw, then the Ring saw can be used to complete the cut.
These saws create 2 stroke fumes and should not be used in poorly ventilated areas – See High Frequency Sawing for poorly ventilated areas.
